Welcome to Planet Battleground!
We are eager that you have chosen to join the battle! Whether you have chosen to fight for money, power, or honor, you will nonetheless have to know how to command your army!
This tutorial is still a work in progress!
Quick Start
Here's the game in a nutshell:
You are a commander.
You buy weapons and destroy other armies for money.
Money buys new weapons.
Money is good.
Friends help too.
Not enough?
Here's the game in a bigger nutshell:
You are the commander of an army. On order to become more powerful and defeat your foes, you must recruit soldiers and equip them weapons. After building a sizeable force, you can use your army to attack other players. The money you gain from successful attacks lets you buy better weapons, research new units, and improve your overall army. At any time you may bank a portion or your money for safe keeping. And if you an a group of friends want to battle as a group, clans allow users to show their alliegance and group together to attack a common enemy: everyone else.
So here's kind the course of action you will most likely take:
Agenda for the Conquistador
- Check your attack log (if you so desire)
- Buy weapons
- Attack
- Attack
- Attack
- Research or bank
- Attack
- Attack
- Attack
- Repair
- Recruit

Agenda for the Warlord
- Check your attack log (if you so desire)
- Buy weapons
- Check clan news
- Attack
- Attack
- Research or bank
- Attack
- Attack
- Repair
- Recruit
- Trade link with friends
- Click friends links

As you can see, the conquistador will do just fine, but the warlord will keep tabs within a clan while also trading links to build up his and his friends' armies.
Ok so just in case you want to run off and try the game yourself, here are some important concepts you might want to know in order of importance:
Wealth:
Money. Use it to buy new units or repair damaged ones. Wealth can be banked and used for researching new technologies. When you attack someone, or someone attacks you, this is what they want.
Army Size:
The number of soldiers you have. You need soldiers to fight. Similarly, you need weapons to fight. You can only use as many weapons as you have soldiers. If you have more weapons that soldiers, the most powerful weapons are used first.
Attack Turns:
In order to attack, you need to have some preparation. You gain one 'turn' every 6 minutes. You can use anywhere between 1 and 10 turns to attack. Of course the more time you spend attacking (ie: using 10 turns), the more wealth you gain per attack.
Total Attack Power:
A holistic measurement of your maximum offensive damage output. If you output more damage than the enemy, guess what, you win and steal a good portion of their money.
Total Defense Power:
A holistic measurement of your maximum defensive damage output. If you output more defense than the enemy, guess what, you win and get to keep your money.
Faction:
Your faction currently determines the kind of weapons you can buy.
Tech Level:
Your weapon level. Upgrading your tech level allows you to build new weapons.
Experience:
A fixed amount gained every time you attack. Experience is another attribute you need to increase in order to upgrade your research.
Current Income:
The amount of wealth you gain per turn. Research commerce or recruit more soldiers to increase this.
Unit Training Rate:
The amount of soldiers you gain per day. Research civics to increase this.
