Minor activation, registration fixes; clan page links We made activation easier by sending your account information right after you register. This only affects new players, so it isn't much of a change for current players. Also, we enforced a 7-day reset delay. This means you can only reset your account every 7-days to prevent people from continuously resetting their account. Update: We also no longer show the user's password after they register, for security reasons. Update 2: We fixed the registration so that the security code is no longer case-sensitive, as it now appears in all-caps in order to make it easier to read. Update 3: The 'Take Action!' pages now have links that go directly to the current player's clan page.

Fixed 'Ranks', moved to frontpage
The 'Ranks' page used to not reflect the actual army size of the players listed. This has been fixed and in addition to that, the ranks have been moved to the front page to increase visibility.
Update: We increased the spacing on the navigation links to make it a little easier to click on them.
Update: We made some minor changes to wording: from '(number of) Armies' to 'Army Size'. Also updated the clan page to now list the members in that clan.

Clan database cleaned
Due to the nature of the most recent reset, some clans were left without their presidents and were therefore unusable. As a result, we have freed the following clans from the database and we ask the presidents of these clans to recreate their clans if they so choose:

Forums won't be up for another week
We just wanted users to know that the forums won't be up for another week because we are currently on a temporary server. Within the next two weeks we will move to another server and then reopen the forums. Sorry for the trouble this may have caused. We are considering integrating the forums to prevent this from happening again.
Update: We fixed the clan member list. It now lists users in the order of their standings. Previously it was a random ordering.
Update 2: We increased the soldier death counts once again because it was close to zero over 70% of the time. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email us.
Update 3: We fixed the displayed army sizes on the Attack! and Take Action! pages. Also, the Last Visit times display correctly on the Take Action! pages. Your total army size, untrained and marine counts are now displayed on the Prepare Attack! pages.

Initial rank fixed
We fixed an issue that made it so that when you first joined, you were ranked as Field Marshal. This has been fixed as your inital rank will be Private.

Soldier casualties addressed
Changes made to the game:
- Only miners, guards, and untrained soldiers die when defending
- Only marines and untrained soldiers die when attacking
- Fix: Removed the bank tax that was still in since the last age
- Increased the miner bonus to 150% from 125% since they can now be killed
- Kills are now based on the proportion of the killable targets: if you have twice as many miners as guards, you will take twice as many miner casualties
- Updated the research text for civics as it has always been adding 2 to your unit training rate per level after 1, not one. (example: level 2 will give 2 soldiers per day, level 3 will give 4 soldiers per day and so on)
Update: we realized that our system generated a lot of casualties for players higher up. This was originally the plan but we did not expect the losses to be so great on a per-battle basis. We have since then reduced the number of soldiers lost by a large proportion by changing our kill calculations.

Store items credited
We have just finished crediting everyone who bought store items from the last game. If you received credit, you should receive an email to confirm this.
Update: we fixed a serious bug that occured on the training page.
Update 2: minor fix to the 'x users' active link on the training page.
Update 3: clarified the bonus miners give to income on the training page.

Armory bug fixed
We have recently fixed a bug that allowed users to sell weapons at a fixed price. The armory may have been down for this fix and we are sorry for the trouble that may have caused.
Update: we fixed an issues where the wrong prices were being displayed on the training page.
Update 2: we fixed an issue where spy attacks did not deduct the turns a player used. We have also updatedt the bank changes mentioned in the Dec 3 news post.
Update 3: we will being crediting store credits within the next 3 days. Note: if you report a bug, we will give you turns depending on the severity of the bug you report.
Update 4: fixed a bug where the maximum damage was not displaying correctly in the armory.

Reset and new features are here
We ran into many issues migrating the new system to the servers. Please not that some issues may not have been resolved yet since this is only a temporary server. We plan to move to another server in the next month. All user information during this move will be preserved, so you don't need to worry about a reset. Please report all issues to planetbg AT gmail DOT com.

Reset is coming
UPDATE: We are moving the reset date to December 22th due to numerous delays. We are sorry we cannot deploy the next release this Friday. More news will be posted as it becomes available.
We are still unsure if we can make the date because the amount of testing is enormous. If you bought anything from the store, it will be credited within the next 2 days. This was a tough decision to make but because the next release will be so big, we thought it would be unfair with the current progression. Here are some things that are coming up:
- Unit training
- Miners - generate 125% of the income of soldiers and cannot be killed in battle
- Marines - deal 200% of weapon damage; can be used for attack only
- Guards - deal 200% of weapon damage; can be used for defense only
- Spies - can be used for any offensive spy ability
- Scouts - can be used for any defensive spy ability
- Spy abilities
- Expose weakness (1-10 turns)- if successful, it will increase the damage of your next attack by up to 20%
- Commit thievery (1-10 turns) - if successful, will steal up to 25% of player's current wealth
- These attacks work on players that are within 3 ranks of you
- Attack mechanics
- After any attack, a player will take significantly more weapon damage and soldier casualties than before
- All units will take casualties (marines, soldiers in attack, guards, miners, soldiers in defense)
- You can only attack players within 2 ranks of you
- Fixed issues with negative suggested ranks
- Fixed issues with negative weapon damage
- Weapon damage was being applied correctly
- Unit hit points have been normalized
- Officer/Commander System
- This system has been deprecated with the introduction of the clan system
- Bank
- You will only be able to bank 4 times a day, up to a certain limit determined by your banking level
- The bank has a hard cap on it which increases per level of banking
- New Ranking System
- A new ranking system will bracket players to make attacking more fair to players at all levels:
- Field Marshal
- General
- Lieutenant-General
- Major-General
- Brigadier
- Lieutenant-Colonel
- Major
- Captain
- Lieutenant
- Sergeant
- Corporal
- Private

Here's what we added today:
- Resigning from a clan now updates the president name
- NEW: clan information page
- NEW: clan listings
- Clan presidents can now modify their information page from the President Control Panel
- Clan relationships are visible from the clan public page
- Recruiting no longer gives wealth

Major Attack Mechanic Fixed
We found the error that people in the forums were refering to and it turns out that if you had more attack weapons than armies, your defense weapons would not be activated. This has been resolved and you should be able to arm as many attack weapons as defense weapons and vice versa. We also fixed some clan listing issues on the page where players browse clans to join.

(More) Bugs Fixes for Today
Changes for today:
- An issue where some player could not be attacked
- Disabled forum registration and instead linked forum and user accounts
- Fixed the Private Message link on user pages
- Reduced starting wealth after reset to 1,000 wealth
- Notice: registration bonuses were removed awhile back but not update on the front page
- Doubled the amount you can bank per turn so it reads: Increases your banking limits by 10,000 but increases your daily bank fee by 0.5%.
- Reduced delay between attacks from 15 to 5 seconds
- Capped agility research at level 10; each level of agility reduces the lag by 0.5 seconds
- Changed many weapon names

Bugs Fixes for Today
We fixed a turn system issue today and have also resolve the following bugs since the last update
:
- Reseting your account as the clan president made the clan president-less forever
- Attacking when you have zero attack power made you unable to ever attack
- You couldn't attack anyone not in a clan if you weren't in a clan
- Under certain circumstances, researches could be bought at lower-than-normal prices
- Fixed bug that prevented players from navigating to the research page from any clan page
- Moved some navigation links on the my account page
- Moved some navigation links on the page navigation
- Removed the deprecated "world map" feature
- Fixed the escape slashes that showed up when viewing clan news

A much-needed reset!
This new release was designed to better balance the game for new players and keep the richest people from staying there. As with every release, there is bound to be some opposition to the changes but we think many of these changes will not greatly impact the play for current players:
- Bank interest removed, renamed the vault which charges a fee to deposit money
- Banking increases your banking amount by 100,000 wealth per level but also increases you fee by 0.5% per level
- The banking lag time has been reduced to 1 minute
- Many researches had their bonuses reduced to 1% and are capped currently at level 10
- Researches are a fixed cost increase of 100,000 per level now
- A clan system has been implented!
- Players no longer gain the officer or experience bonuses when attacking
- Players in the same clan can no longer attack each other
- The attack summary page has been changed
- A layout bug which caused the page to render stretching images incorrectly has been fixed
- Players' clan are now listed in the Attack! page
- Turn time has been set to 6 minutes
- Recruiting via link no longer awards turns
What's coming up:
- Clan homepages for people to see outside the clan
- Clan listings by rank, power, wealth, etc
- More clan-centric benefits!
